A closure order was issued this week to the La Gondola banquet hall in Jerusalem due to concern about the danger to public safety.
The Jerusalem municipality says that the hall in Talpiot is run without a business license and without the owner of the business bothering to submit an application. A statement from city hall added that the lack of a license meant no inspections were carried out by licensing agencies. That meant there was no approval from the police, fire and health authorities. It noted the lack of fire extinguishers, emergency exits and other basic safety requirements.
