It has been disclosed that security inspectors of the Defense Ministry's Crossings Authority stopped a vehicle with Palestinian Authority license plates Saturday night at the Reihan crossing near the Nachal Eeron (Wadi Ara in Arabic) area of northern Israel.
The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old resident of eastern Barta'a, aroused their suspicion. During a check of the vehicle, inspectors discovered an M16 machine gun hidden in the vehicle and disassembled into pieces. The driver was detained for questioning.
