Oxygen tanks were empty, patient died

MDA teams arrived at the house of a patient suffering from pulmonary edema which causes fluid accumulation in the tissue and air spaces of the lungs and requires immediate oxygen treatment.

The medics tried to use oxygen but then discovered that their oxygen tanks were empty. The medics summoned help and tried to use physical resuscitation techniques but the patient lost consciousness and eventually died.

The court ruled that the MDA medics had been negligent in not bringing oxygen tanks with air and had caused the death of the patient.

The financial suit is being conducted in the Tel Aviv Magistrates court.
