South Korean President Moon Jae-in agreed in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump to cooperate and exert maximal pressure for the effective implementation of the new sanctions on North Korea.

The two leaders agreed to cooperate in restraining Pyongyang ahead of a joint military exercise by the two countries later this month, according to a statement released by the Office of the South Korean President. Moon also said it was necessary to show North Korea that the door to the negotiating table was still open if it gave up its nuclear program.
