Hundreds of employees of the Emilia Cosmetics factory in the southern town of Yeruham, along with hundreds of council members and residents of the area, will demonstrate Wednesday at the Yeruham junction as part of the struggle against the management of the factory, which has closed its gates and, according to the Histadrut Labor Federation, is threatening to dismiss the employees.
Member of Knesset Mickey Levy (Yesh Atid) said that "the government's conduct in the matter of approval of the cosmetics regulations destroys Israeli industry, harms parallel imports, will result in the dismissal of workers, and in the end will lead to an increase in consumer prices. The layoffs at Emilia Cosmetics have joined a wave of layoffs in the south in recent months - the Israeli government is losing the south."
