The director of the Al-Aqsa association, Shekh Safwat Freij, stated that he is opposed to the installation of surveillance cameras at Temple Mount and added that the crisis at the site would only end when the Waqf was restored to sovereignty on Temple Mount.
"This is an act which enflames the masses. The situation must be returned to what it was before the 14th of July [when the Temple Mount attack occurred]," said Freij to Army Radio. "People compare the entry to Temple Mount to a restuarant, but this is a mosque, one needs to enter in a good mood," added Freij
