Chief of Staff Gadi Eizenkot spoke Sunday with new IDF inductees at the IDF initiation base.
"You are enlisting on a very difficult day and I think we can say that at every enlistment. The incident yesterday emphasizes the complexity and I wish to send condolences to the families.
"The soldier who shot yesterday stopped the killing spree. The shooting from the Gaza strip shows the tension in that sector.
'We are dealing with a long list of threats, and terror which began even before the state was founded, but I believe we provide security despite the horrific attacks. You are joining an army with good capabilities but first and foremost we rely on the abilities and spirit of our soldiers."
