Chief-of-Staff Gadi Eizenkot of the Israel Defense Forces responded on Thursday for the first time to the investigation into alleged improprieties in the purchase of submarines from a German company. The lieutenant-general said, "If someone wearing a uniform stinks, his place is not with us."
Current and former officers have given testimony to police and are expected to receive a summons from the police soon.
