Law committee chairman Nissan Slomiansky(Jewish Home) said that the lesson to be learned from the attack at Temple Mount is that security at the Mount must be in Israel's hands and we cannot rely on anybody else. "If they do not agree to this we will close the Mountain," he said.
Slomiansky stressed that the Mount would be closed to Arabs and not to Jews so as not to give a prize to terror. He added that even though he personally received a halakhic ruling not to enter the Temple Mount, there are Jews who enter and this is OK and helps us to maintain control of the mountain.
Slomiansky said he was surprised that Israeli Arabs were involved in terror as they are part of Israeli society but added that there is vicious propoganda amongst them and many are taken in by it.
