Two soldiers on vacation rescued 86 eggs of a brown sea turtle, an endangered species, after they identified her on the beach as she crawled out of the water toward the beach and lay her eggs into a hole she had dug.

They said the process took a long time, took about half an hour to find the place on the beach to lay the eggs and another 45 minutes to dig the hole for it. Only then did she start laying eggs. The two realized that the next day, Friday, the beach would be full of bathers and the chances of the eggs surviving were slim.
