As of about 1:00 pm, about 12.2 percent of the more than 50,000 eligible Labor party voters have cast their electronic ballots in the race of charmanship of the party.
The 80 polling places around the country are scheduled to close at 9:00 pm and the results are expected shortly thereafter.
