Italy's Interior Ministry announced on Monday that the number of immigrants arriving in the country since the beginning of the year is about 20% higher than that of the first half of 2016.
According to data released by the ministry, 85,183 immigrants have arrived arrived in Italy since the start of 2017, compared with 71,729 in the same period last year.
