Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch of the Western Wall of the Temple and holy places has responded to the government's decision to freeze the outline of the Western Wall by saying, "The Western Wall unites and unifies the Jewish people in Israel and the Diaspora. This unity is achieved thanks to the shared belief and the mutual respect of millions of worshipers and visitors to the Wall - men and women, religious and non-religious, young and old - while preserving its sanctity."
According to the rabbi, there are no streams, ethnic communities and divisions opposite the Wall's ancient stones, but a large congregation of individuals who stand in prayer, in fear and trembling, in a place where the Divine Presence never moves, each according to their heart, while preserving the tradition and heritage of Israel and what has been practiced at the Wall for 50 years. He made it clear, "The Western Wall Heritage Foundation will continue to act with dedication to serve all the people of the Wall and to preserve it as it has always been - the beating and unifying heart of the entire Jewish people."
