President Reuven Rivlin decided today to reduce the sentence of Meir Rabin-Haimov, who was convicted in the Holyland real-estate case, and sentenced him to four years in prison.

Rabin-Haimov was the assistant to the state witness in the Holyland affair and was convicted of paying bribes to deputy Jerusalem mayor Eliezer Simchayoff and receiving a bribe from Danny Dankner to transfer to relative Yaakov Efrati, manager of the Israel Lands Administration, who was acquitted of receiving a bribe. The case revolved around the approval of a development which had appeared to be headed for rejection.
