In recent weeks, five cases of measles have been reported to the Ministry of Health in eastern and western Jerusalem, among women aged 20 to 40. There is no known case of measles in the rest of the country in recent months.

Measles is a highly contagious disease, characterized by fever, rash, eye inflammation and a general bad feeling, with potential for serious complications. Receiving a measles vaccination according to the Ministry of Health guidelines may prevent this disease almost completely. The public is called upon to ensure routine immunization of children according to their age. The ministry said, "It is important to emphasize that there is no shortage of child immunizations. The Ministry of Health has also ordered additional vaccines in order to meet demand and is currently ordering additional vaccinations for adults."
