President Reuven(Rubi) Rivlin participated Thursday in the opening of the jubilee festivities in Kiryat Arba together with thousands of participants.
Rivlin said that he "merited being one of the liberators of Hevron, the city of the forefathers" and added "I don't know a better phrase for what my friends and I from the Jerusalem Battalion felt besides 'we were like dreamers.' After 2000 years we are in Hevron and at Rachel's tomb without fear, without telling Jews to stand on this step or that step [as Muslims told Jews previously].
