The European Parliament voted by a large majority to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance ( IHRA) definition of anti-Semitism. The decision calls on all countries in the EU to adopt this definition and act against anti-Semitism as well as to protect their Jewish citizens , act against hate crimes and incitement and support police efforts to bring perpetrators to justice.
The deputy director of the Center of European Rabbis welcomed the decision and said it would aid the war against anti-Semitism in Europe.
