The cabinet approved on Sunday a proposal of the Ministry of Education and the Jerusalem-affairs Ministry for the establishment of an inter-ministerial working team to submit a detailed work plan within 30 days for reducing socio-economic gaps in eastern Jerusalem and funding sources for its implementation.
The goal of the five-year plan is to improve the quality of education in East Jerusalem, with an emphasis on encouraging the Israeli curriculum in schools. The program includes building new classrooms, increasing the rate of entitlement to matriculation, increasing the rate of entitlement to a technological certificate, and reducing dropouts.
