The state decided on Monday to pay grants to families of those who fell in what amounted to reserve duty during the War of Independence, before the reserves system was formalized.
Dozens of families are affected. The main criteria determined for the granting of the grant are: the age of the fallen at the time they fell, family status, place of residence, occupational status, and characteristics and the role of the fallen's unit. The criteria will be presented to the court dealing with the matter.
