The ministerial legislative committee decided to postpone its vote on the proposal to require surveillance cameras in every nursing home.

The law, proposed by MKs Itzik Shmoli (Zionist Union), Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli(Jewish Home) Yoav Kish(Likud) and Robert Ilatov(Israel Beitenu) enjoys the support of 81 MKs. It would require nursing institutions to install 24-hour surveillance in order to track cases of abuse or attacks on senior citizens.
