AP fired Jews based on Nazi requests

Internal investigations of the AP news agency have revealed that it fired Jews on request of the Nazi regime even before World War II,  as well as employing Nazi photographers and distributing Nazi propaganda during the period of Nazi rule.

However the agency denies collaborating with the Nazis, claiming that it "acted in the most direct and independent manner possible at the time.".

It also claimed that due to its "aggressive" journalistic work it succeeded in revealing to the world the dangers of the Nazi regime.
