Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman referred to VE day celebrations taking place on May 9th, 72 years after the victory over Nazi Germany.
Liberman said that "1.5 million Jews fought in the Red Army and in the British and American Armies as in addition to them, tens of thousands of partisans and underground members fought the Nazis.
"The Jewish Yishuv also fought, sending paratroopers over enemy lines as well as the Jewish Brigade which fought in the British army. The Nazis had a formidable collaborator in our region: Haj Amin El-Husseinu, Mufti of Jerusalem."
Liberman said that the Mufti's disciples are continuing to try and destroy the Jewish state. He added that these include the Joint Arab List "which supports the families of terrorists. These MKs should not be sitting in the Knesset but should be in the Palestinian parliament."
