Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and the United States Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms are investigating the torching of cars in the parking lot of the Chabad Jewish Center of Las Vegas and Southern Nevada on Monday night. A restroom arson attempt was the first incident to take place prior to the cars being set on fire. Police are looking at surveillance video of a possible suspect.
There have been a rash of hate crimes committed against Jewish communities in and around Las Vegas this year, including the carving of a swastika in the sidewalk outside the center, but fire officials have not said whether or not Monday night's incident was a hate crime.
