Supreme Court Judge Anat Baron has rejected a petition by Member of Knesset Ayelet Nahmias-Verbin (Zionist Union) and other parents to issue an interim injunction preventing the implementation of the Education Ministry's decision to move the Lag B'Omer holiday from Sunday to Monday. In handing down her ruling, Justice Baron wrote, "Considering the date on which the petition was filed and the tight timetable remaining until the implementation... it appears that the damage caused by the requested interim injunction is greater than the benefit deriving from such an order."

A demand by the parents that the High Court decide in principle that the Ministry of Education should consult the parents' organizations prior to determining the annual vacations schedule will be dealt with later. The state's response will be submitted within a month and a half.
