Arab students at Haifa University observed what they call Nakba Day on Monday, using the Arabic word for catastrophe to describe the creation of the modern state of Israel. Opposite them were students who were members of right-wing cells waving Israeli flags.

Daniel Siegelov, head of the school's Likud cell, told Arutz Sheva the decision to allow demonstrators to hold their ceremony a week after Independence Day is a disgrace to the government.
