Israeli satellite imagery confirmed that Russia has at least one Aerial Early Warning and Control aircraft (AWAC) stationed in Syria, according to a report by Defense News.
The special aircraft are designed to identify and ground airborne threats, and pose a threat for IAF air strikes in Syria.
