The Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved the "Nation Bill."
Chairman of the Committee Yariv Levon praised the development, noting how deliberations on the bill have stalled its advance for some time.
He praised the bill as "a basic law regarding which it is unclear how it was not anchored in law until now, whose simple goal to to guard the status of Israel as the state of the Jewish people."
