Defense Minister Liberman referred to the decision by Eli academy head Rabbi Yigal Levinstein to take study leave from his role in the pre-army academy.

Liberman said that Levinstein was a "brave soldier in the IDF and now I think he has taken a correct decision."

Liberman claimed that the army had not erred in confronting Religious Zionism over the issue of female participation in the army and stressed that the mixed units had been around for a decade.

He added that the phenomenon of haredi Religous Zionists [Hardal] was not the regular type and deemed it an "incorrect phenomenon."
