Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid spoke at a special meeting marking 40 years since the 1977 political upheaval which brought the Likud to power. Lapid said that Begin had brought unity in his leadership and had respected every citizen in Israel, but said that Israel requires a new political upheaval which will change the way people relate to one another and unite the nation.
Lapid said that the difference between an upheaval and a revolution is that the upheaval carried Israel to the next stage in its existence without dividing and tearing the country apart and without endangering its democracy.
