Iran has increased aid to Hamas's military wing and there has been a significant improvement in Tehran's ties with the terrorist organization in Gaza, according to Kol Yisrael government radio.

The station said Palestinian Authority sources told the London-based Pan-Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat that the new Hamas leader in Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, played an important role in the rapprochement between the sides. The relations between Hamas and Iran were undermined five years ago by the decision of the leadership of the terrorist organization not to appear alongside Bashar Assad in the Syrian civil war. However, Iranian aid to Hamas' military wing in Gaza continued even after a budget cut by Iran to Hamas.
