French far-right presidential candidate Marine Le Pen said on Monday that if she is elected president, she would negotiate with the European Union on dropping the shared euro currency and returning to the French franc.
"The euro has become some kind of weapon in the hands of the European Central Bank, the European Union... I want a free people," she told France 2 television.
