Nine bereaved families from the Samarian Jewish community of Yitzhar wrote on Monday to Major General Roni Numa, head of the Israel Defense Forces' Central Command, to protest a message received on the eve of Memorial Day that the general intends to remove Jewish contractor Elkan Pikar from Judea and Samaria area within 72 hours by administrative order for a period of four months.

The families wrote, "Delivering the message in general, and especially on the day that the entire Jewish people unite and unite around the best of their sons and daughters who fell in the struggle for the rebirth of Israel and were murdered for the sanctification of God, is a severe blow to us and the memory of the fallen." In conclusion, they call on Numa to take back his decision.
