MK Rahel Azaria, who heads the Reforms Committee, responded to the reform in Kashrut supervision announced by Chief Rabbi David Lau.
Azaria stated that "the program has many flaws and is not a real reform since the Rabbinate's power remains tight and it continues to act as a monopoly."
Azaria claimed that the only solution is to "open the Kashrut arena to competition which will increase transparency and break the monopoly which is weighing down on Israel."
