Minister of Justice Ayelet Shaked has announced that she intends to promote legislation in the coming months that will allow Holocaust survivors to receive free legal aid to take advantage of their rights. Under current income standards, most survivors don't qualify.
In addition, the minister announced that she has asked the Ministry of Finance to ensure that survivors continue to receive the monthly allowance they received from the Corporation for the Return of Holocaust Assets, which is expected to close. The budget is NIS 100 million, which was approved by the Ministry of Finance.
