Member of Knesset Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) responded, Sunday, to the report that Defense Ministry Director-General Udi Adam intends to revoke special conditions that have been granted over the years to the "Bnei David" pre-military preparatory program in the Samarian Jewish community of Eli by saying, "It is forbidden to harm the framework of service that was accepted until now, and the abuse of the preparatory course must stop."
The deputy foreign minister added, "The intention of the Defense Ministry to harm the students and not allow them an additional year of study is to harm the IDF and not the preparatory program. At the end of the day, quality human material was created as a result of the significant Torah study that takes place in the preparatory program, and it is forbidden to harm the students' service conditions."
