The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs on Monday said 493,000 civilians have fled Mosul as a result of the fighting. They also noted 500,000 others are still in ISIS-controlled Mosul, where Iraqi forces are fighting the ISIS.
Iraq began attempting to retake Mosul from ISIS in October 2016.
