The Jerusalem Magistrate's Court has decided in a precedent-setting ruling to recognize high-ranking police officer Baruch Mizrahi, who was murdered by a terrorist on the way to celebrate the Passover seder in 2014, as killed in the line of duty, according to Channel 2 Television.
A police officer who examined the incident noted that Mizrahi Mizrahi had to be available 24 hours a day, at unusual times, and to ensure his availability he drove a police vehicle and not a protected bus. The court overturned a police decision that noted Mizrahi was recognized as a victim of hostilities, but was not killed as a direct result of his security service. The police decision meant lower benefits for his survivors.
