The Counter-Terrorism Bureau decided on Sunday to make its travel warning to Sinai more aggressive, following a special situation assessment and in light of the deadly terrorist attacks in Egypt.
In view of the gravity of the threat, the staff recommended that Israelis staying in Sinai immediately leave the area and return to Israel. In addition, the bureau is asking the families of Israelis staying there to contact them and update them on the immediate threat in Sinai. The staff is recommending that Israeli citizens who intend to go to Sinai refrain from doing so.
