MK Nahman Shai visited the headquarters of Magen David Adom and heard a detailed survey of its activities. He also toured the telephone service center, which receives emergency calls at its 101 number every 15 seconds on average.
Shai noted that MDA does not receive any government funding despite its being the largest emergency medical service in the country and expressed interest at the possibility of the state funding MDA service to the elderly as well as other funding options currently being discussed in the Knesset.
Shai said that MDA is "at the forefront of emergency medical services and does its work successfully."
