Yaakov Haguel, the deputy and acting director of the World Zionist Organization and the head of the department for Israel affairs and combating anti-Semitism, responded to the closure of the Jewish Center in Sweden after anti-Semitic threats from a local Neo-Nazi organization.
Haguel said that "this is a continuation of the libel and crosses all the red lines of rampant anti-Semitism in Sweden. The latest incidents follow a long list of incitements, blood libels, spreading fear and intentional disregard by the Swedish authorities."
Haguel said Jews are fleeing Malmo due to the anti-Semitism and the libelous accusations that Jews sell Palestinian body parts as well as the persecution of local Jews by Muslim residents and the anti-Israel policies of the local government. He called on the Swedish government to take responsibility and protect its citizens.
