Ben Gurion University in Beer Sheva, which is less than 50 years old, is ranked among the 100 leading universities in the world in registering patents in the US.
The university reports that it submitted three times as many patent requests as it did a decade ago.
"As a university we are committed to turning the innovations from our research into commercial technologies which will help society," says university president Prof. Rivka Carmi.
Many of the patents registered by the university have led to the establishment of successful companies and others have contributed to the development of products for international companies, in conjunction with the academic institution.
