Chairman Menachem Eliezer Mozes of the United Torah Judaism faction in the Knesset has sent a letter to Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan demanding that police forces refrain from desecrating Shabbat as they prepare for the Lag BaOmer events in Meron, which will on a Saturday night this year.
Member of Knesset Moses notes in his letter that in the past years, when the observance started on Saturday night, reports were received from the residents of Meron that the police began preparations in the afternoon, at the height of the Sabbath.
