The Amona Task Force said, Thursday, "We demand that the prime minister and cabinet ministers unanimously support the establishment of a new community, including the provision of a community symbol and the new location chosen by the residents."

In a statement ahead of a Thursday cabinet meeting on the matter, members of the task force warned, "We declare unequivocally that the construction of a neighborhood adjacent to an existing community (Hill Bet in the veteran community of Shvut Rachel) does not constitute a new community as defined in the agreement with us, and that such a decision contradicts the agreement and we will not cooperate with it."

The task force statement added, "If a decision to establish the new community is not accepted today, it would be a violation of an agreement and a breach of a government commitment beyond the poor public standard that will determine that agreements are not worth the paper on which they are signed."
