200 new immigrants from Ukraine came to Israel Tuesday on a special flight organized by the Keren Yedidut friendship foundation, according to Kol Yisrael government radio.
Many of the immigrants are refugees from eastern Ukraine who fled the battle zones with separatists and Russia. They decided to immigrate to Israel because of the difficult economic situation in Ukraine. Immigrant Absorption Minister Sofa Landwer greeted the new arrivals during a ceremony at Ben-Gurion Airport.
