Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan wrote on Facebook, "Anyone who refuses to give a get [Jewish writ of divorce -ed] is not considered a religious person and is not entitled to religious rights," following the passage of a law on sanctions against conscientious objectors in prison.

Ben Dahan added, "After four years, get refusers who are in jail because of their refusal and choose to stick to it, will not get Badatz [higher stringency -ed] kosher food for Badatz, stay in the religious wing and more."
