Jerusalem's Jaffa Street (Rechov Yafo) was opened to traffic on Monday evening, after it was closed because of haredi-religious demonstrations against military service and the arrest of three yeshiva students on suspicion of desertion.
Near Shabbat Square (Kikar Shabbat) and the haredi neighborhood of Meah She'arim, most of the hundreds of demonstrators were dispersed and police are positioned to maintain order opposite the dozens of protesters who remain.
