Minister Ayoob Kara (Likud) on Thursday evening criticized the plea bargain with MK Basel Ghattas, under which he will resign from the Knesset and will serve a two-year sentence.
"There is no reason to give MK Ghattas a discount over his serious act of harming state security," Kara said. "How can one look into the eyes of the parents of Elor Azariya, who defended the state and the Military Advocate General imposed a harsh sentence on him, while there a light sentence on an MK who harmed state security."
