The Jerusalem District Court has sentenced former Ashkenazic Chief Rabbi of Israel Yona Metzger to four-and-a-half years in prison on a conviction for accepting bribes totaling about five million shekels. Rabbi Metzger is scheduled to start serving the sentence on May 3rd.
