Employment Service director general Boaz Hirsch said on Tuesday that there has been a decrease of 12 percent in unemployment claims and a 28% reduction in claims for income support in the south since 2015.
Addressing the Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee, Hirsch said the figures for unemployment in the south stand at about 6%, compared to the national average of around 3%.
