The Al Jazeera network cited Israeli military sources on Thursday as saying Egypt carried out Wednesday night's attack on the Gaza border, in response to the barrage of rockets that was fired at Eilat earlier in the evening.
Two people were killed and five wounded in the explosion near the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and the Hamas-ruled area. Gaza has blamed the casualties on an Israeli airstrike.
